We're a professional house clearance business based near Stroud, serving the whole of Gloucestershire. But we're not just here to empty a house: we're working towards a genuine circular economy, where nothing useful ends up as waste and more items get a second life.

We're Gloucestershire's only not-for-profit house clearance social enterprise, and a circular approach runs through everything we do. Furniture and household items go straight to The Home Remedy, where they're sold on to people who need them. What doesn't go there, we sell through our own shop at the yard, giving it a new home rather than put in a skip. And where items don't fit either route, we work with local charities to make sure they still find a use rather than going to waste.

The result: more things reused, fewer things wasted, and more staying local.

We grew out of The Home Remedy (formerly Stroud Furniture Bank), who started out collecting furniture and were increasingly asked to take on a wider range of unwanted items. In September 2021, we launched Gloucestershire House Clearances to meet that need directly.

As a Community Interest Company, we exist to benefit the community, not shareholders. Any profit we make goes straight back into our social, charitable and environmental work.

We're part of The Grace Network, a group of connected social enterprises across three sites in Gloucestershire: The Home Remedy, Kids' Stuff, The Long Table, The Bike Drop, and The Great Plate.
