About Us

  • We are a not-for-profit house clearance social enterprise. Our vision is of a new circular economy where the waste we all produce is better recycled, reused and recirculated. If we do this then we can create new jobs, reduce our impact on the planet and make our economy more vibrant.

We were born out of Stroud District Furniture Bank who were collecting furniture and increasingly being asked to dispose of unwanted waste items. This meant we had to adapt so we created Gloucestershire House Clearances in November 2020.

As a Community Interest Company, we have charitable aims and an asset lock which means all our surplus income is recycled to help further our social goals.

We sit under the umbrella of The Grace Network - Stroud District Furniture Bank, Stroud District Kids’ Stuff, The Long Table, The Bike Drop and Kick Off Stroud.

When we make a surplus we recycle the money to allow us to innovate and create new waste reduction solutions. For example, most recently, we used our profit to buy more sophisticated equipment to salvage rare earth metals out of electrical equipment. This allows us to recycle more and develop our environmental aims.
